Yesterday, the 16th of April 2019 my father who was a 'schutter' died at the age of 96 years.
He may have been the last living 'schutter' who defended his island during second World War.
I'm currently writing an article for the Ñapa, the cultural supplement of The Amigoe newspaper, about the cultural influence and changes WWII brought about in Aruba.

My grandfather was George Owen Kunkle and I believe you have the wrong picture of him. He is to the left of the gentleman you have posted in the baseball game photograph. I have a scanned picture of him in uniform if you would like me to send it.
